I was talking with a friend about how difficult things are and sometimes how we don't feel like we are good enough or have many flaws.
I know I've felt like that at times and I'm sure many people have, but we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. We aren't able to comprehend everything that God does, but he knows each of us individually. At times we may not even see the effect we are making and how important we truly are in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.
This reminds me of a song that I heard in the movie, "Prince of Egypt." I love the character of Jethro. In this movie, Jethro sings a song "Through Heaven's Eyes." and a line from that song is:
"And the stone that sits up on the very top
of the mountain's mighty face
does it think that it's more important
than the stones that form the base?"
God sees you not only as a mortal being on a small planet who lives for a brief season—He sees you as His child. He sees you as the being you are capable and designed to become. He wants you to know that you matter to Him.
May we ever believe, trust, and align our lives so that we will understand our true eternal worth and potential. May we be worthy of the precious blessings our Heavenly Father has in store for us is
The key is to stop selling yourself short, which was actually told to me by a missionary who has had a great effect on my life. We shouldn't limit ourselves by what we think is our capacity. We can make a great effect on the lives of others. I know that I wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for the examples of others. I am a child of God and I matter to Him, so do YOU.
